Main tasks of the department of geology and exploitation

  • forming the strategy, principles and programme of exploration of natural gas and crude oil deposits in Poland and abroad,
  • drawing up an overall plan of exploration and recognition works in Poland and abroad,
  • exploration of crude oil and natural gas deposits in Poland and abroad, including: programming, designing and providing documentation of drilling holes: exploration holes, recognition holes and exploitation holes as well as exercising geological and investment supervision over these works,
  • realization of works in the field exploration of hydrocarbon in the framework of common undertaking with the participation of external partners,
  • dealing with all concession issues connected with exploration, recognition and exploitation of hydrocarbon deposits, including underground waste storage, underground non-tank gas storage for exploitation, CO2 storage and underground non-tank substance storage in accordance with Geological and Mining Law,
  • dealing with all issues connected with geology and exploitation process as well as coordination of activity and factual supervision over Subsidiary Companies and Departments of PGNiG S.A. in Poland and abroad which conduct exploration and exploitation of deposits, underground non-tank gas storage for exploitation, non-tank substance storage and underground waste storage,
  • defining the output capacity of boreholes and deposits in order to draw up annual and long-standing  forecasts of hydrocarbon output,
  • monitoring of the exploitation of crude oil and natural gas deposits according with the obtained concessions and endorsed output programmes,
  • supervision over the fund of mining plant decommission,
  • initiation of preparation of geological structures for underground storage of waste, CO2 and substances for PGNiG Capital Group,
  • service activity in the field of geology, geological works and supervision over oil and gas boreholes exploitation,
  • coordination and conducting exploratory and developmental works in the field of exploration and exploitation of deposits, underground waste, CO2 and substance storage for PGNiG Capital Group.
